The Unknown Is the Scary Part
Most of the anxiety around boudoir comes from not knowing what to expect. Once you know the flow of the day, the whole thing feels much less intimidating. So here is exactly what happens from start to finish.
Before You Arrive
A few days before your session, you will receive a prep guide from me covering everything — what to wear, how to prep your skin, and what to bring. We will also have a conversation about your vision for the session. By the time you walk through the door, there are no surprises.
Hair and Makeup
You arrive with clean, dry hair and a fresh face. Our professional hair and makeup artist takes it from there. This part of the experience usually takes about an hour, and it is designed to do more than make you look good. It is your time to settle in, relax, and let someone take care of you. Read more about how hair and makeup transforms the experience.
Outfit Planning
Once you are glammed up, we go through your outfits together. I will help you decide the order, suggest combinations you might not have thought of, and build a loose plan for the session. This is collaborative. Your input matters.
The Session Itself
This is where it all comes together. Here is what it feels like:
- I guide everything — You do not need to know how to pose. I direct every detail: where to put your hands, how to angle your chin, when to move, when to be still.
- We start slow — The first few minutes are about getting comfortable. As we build momentum, the poses become more natural and the confidence grows.
- Wardrobe changes — We typically move through three to four looks. You will have complete privacy for every change.
- Music is playing — The studio is not silent. There is music, conversation, and energy that keeps things feeling natural.
- It goes fast — Most clients are surprised by how quickly the session flies by. That is a sign of a good experience.
After the Session
You will leave feeling different than when you arrived. I hear it from every single client. There is a lightness, a confidence, a sense of, "I cannot believe I just did that."
Within a few weeks, your images will be ready for your reveal session, where you will see every photo and choose your favorites.
It Is Not What You Think It Is
Most clients tell me the experience was nothing like what they imagined. It is not awkward. It is not uncomfortable. It is not performative. It is personal, empowering, and far more fun than you expect.
If you are still on the fence, read what past clients have said on my testimonials page. Or just reach out and ask me anything. There is no pressure, ever.
